Leading Mouth Guard Product Provides Welcome Relief for Teeth Grinding Sufferers

New dental grind guard product relieves multi-symptoms & effects of teeth grinding with comfortable design that provides effective relief from Bruxism.

Published July 28th, 2017

Norwalk, CT -- Ora-GUARD®, the innovative new dental grind guard from Bite Tech Inc. effectively relieves the painful symptoms and effects of excessive teeth grinding, and provides a comfortable and ideal solution to Bruxism.

Bruxism is a very common condition that causes an estimated 60 million adults and children in the United States alone to grind their teeth and clench their jaw. People with bruxism experience painful and lingering symptoms such as rhythmic contractions of the muscles of the jaw, tight and/or painful jaw muscles, occasional swelling of the lower jaw, TMJ headaches, migraines, and general facial pain. People are often unaware that they are grinding until signs of tooth wear are noticed by their dentist who may diagnose bruxism as the cause.

It is a painful problem for which there is no medication to treat.  The protocol recommended is the use of a dental grind guard to prevent clenching and protect the teeth from wear and damage.

Bite Tech Inc. has designed an innovative new mouth guard, Ora-GUARD®, that has taken the marketplace by storm. This ground-breaking new product is designed to relieve the primary and secondary symptoms of teeth grinding while at the same time focusing on relaxing the jaw muscles.

The success of this product is due to its unique 'Bite Plate Wedge' design that causes the lower jaw to slide naturally down and forward, thereby relaxing the muscles of the jaw and avoiding tension. Ora-GUARD® is made from a medical-grade material which provides a soft cushioning effect, while a patented harder surface protects the teeth from damage. Most dental guards rely entirely on soft materials which don't allow the jaws to move naturally and don't protect the teeth effectively, and only address tooth surface grinding. Ora-GUARD® provides consumers with a healthy balance between sturdiness and comfort to address the primary and secondary symptoms of teeth grinding.

Bite Tech Inc. has successfully expanded their reach across the country with their exceptional solution for people who suffer from the debilitating symptoms of teeth grinding. There has been an increased demand for Ora-GUARD® and the company has shown steady growth so far in 2017.

Norwalk company helps tooth-grinders

NORWALK — Last week, a 92-year-old patient of Dr. Paul Keating’s came in with a problem she’d never had before.

Her jaw hurt and her teeth were cracking.

Keating, a dentist in Wilton, said it’s a problem he sees in patients at least once or twice a day, many of whom have never had an issue in the past. It’s known as bruxism — or more commonly, teeth grinding — and Keating said it’s unclear what causes it. But the most commonly blamed source is stress.

“It’s really common,” Keating said. “The ADA says between 30-40 million Americans suffer from Bruxism, some says it’s as many as 60 million. I see it in my practice at least once or twice a day. We see it in children, adults, everyone. It’s pretty easy to diagnose, but it’s much more difficult to figure out the cause. Stress gets implicated but it’s pretty hard to say why people do it. Nobody knows for sure.”

Regardless of the cause, a Norwalk-based oral health products company is attempting to revolutionize the treatment for Bruxism, which currently consists of mouth guards and antianxiety medication. Bite Tech, overseen by CEO Jeff Padovan, has been a leading designer of mouth guards for athletes. With this experience in mind, Padovan said the company set out to use the same ideas and technology in mouth guards meant to protect the teeth and jaws from Bruxism.

The dental guard is designed to reduce the damage of excessive teeth grinding and offer relief for TMJ.

Sleep bruxism, or excessive clenching or grinding of the teeth, can be a serious problem for some people. The most common form of treatment for sleep bruxism is wearing a night/occlusal guard.

Ora-GUARD® is a relatively new dental guard that is designed to alleviate symptoms of bruxism. The Ora-GUARD is reportedly made from soft, medical-grade material to provide a cushion during clenching as well as a patented hard surface design that allows the teeth and jaws to slide naturally and protects teeth from the damaging effects of grinding.

Dr. William Balanoff, DDS, MS, FICD, shared his insight regarding the development of the Ora-GUARD and how patients are responding to this new product.

How can people determine if they’re grinding their teeth in their sleep?
